1. Congratulations on winning One Young World's Lead 2030 Challenge sponsored by Reckitt! Could you tell me more about the impact PowWater has had on providing clean water delivery services in Nairobi and its surrounding areas?

Thanks! It was an honor to win One Young World's Lead2030 Challenge sponsored by Reckitt. PowWater was a perfect contender for the challenge, which sought out to find the best digital-based solution addressing SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation for all). I was excited to see the challenge focus on digital solutions because the core to PowWater's thesis is that some of the world's greatest water challenges can be most effectively addressed using technology!

PowWater is an app for clean water delivery in Nairobi, Kenya. We use technology to offer customers high quality water delivery at the click of a button.

2. Can you tell us more about the award and One Young World?

One Young World is a global Summit empowering and developing young leaders to build a fair, sustainable future for all. The annual summit convenes the brightest young talent to accelerate social impact. I was humbled to win the 2023 Lead 2030 challenge supported by Reckitt, which is the world's biggest prize fund for young leaders making an impact for the Sustainable Development Goals.

The award came with an opportunity to speak at the conference on PowWater's impact, mission, and vision for clean water delivery in Nairobi and beyond.

PowWater will have the opportunity to partner with Reckitt on an ongoing basis for continued mentorship and resources. This collaboration is critical! Startups are innovative and nimble in nature. We can move quickly and drive change along the way. But having the added benefit of being able to tap into the deep expertise and resources of a large corporate partner like Reckitt gives us that much more horsepower to continue to deliver on our promise to customers!

3. PowWater utilizes integrated technology through its app for customers to order water. Can you elaborate on how this technology has enhanced the efficiency of the operations and improved customer experiences?

Technology is at the core of what we do at PowWater. Our network is designed to optimize for delivery distance and delivery time so that we can get water to our customers quickly while reducing fuel emissions along the way.

We also use our technology to monitor the health of the aquifer, which is critical for the sustainability of a city like Nairobi.

4. Can you share some insights into the logistics and operations involved in delivering clean water to customers?

PowWater's fleet of clean water tankers can be found across Nairobi on a 24/7 basis delivering water to both households and businesses. Water quality is a top priority for PowWater. All of the water that is distributed through PowWater is quality-tested to ensure our promise to customers: the most reliable clean water delivery in Nairobi!

5. With the recognition from One Young World, how do you envision PowWater's future in terms of expanding its operations, impact, and influence in Nairobi and beyond?

There are many different cities globally that face water challenges similar to Nairobi. Furthermore, climate change and rapid urbanization are only exacerbating these challenges. The global water crisis will not be solved overnight, or by any one individual or business. It needs to be a group effort. Startups, governments, corporates, and NGO's alike must work together and play to their strengths to ensure that cities are set up in a way that is resilient and flexible to future climate shocks.

PowWater is very focused on continuing to expand our clean water delivery operations in Nairobi and beyond, so that we can play a role in the overall solution.

And that's it, folks! Stay watered!
